Park Elementary is participating in CREW this year where we are building relationships with all individuals within our school. As part of CREW, staff and students are focusing on 5 Habits of Learning which are Responsibility, Perseverance, Wonder, Teamwork and Empathy. Sadie G. in 1st Grade at Park Elementary took it upon herself to show Responsibility for her school by making this poster for our students. Thank you Sadie!

Hour of Code: A Global Movement Comes to 9-R

The vision for Hour of Code is that every student in every school should have the opportunity to learn computer science, just like biology, chemistry or algebra. Code.org organizes the annual Hour of Code campaign which has engaged 10% of all students in the world, and provides the leading curriculum for K-12 computer science in the largest school districts in the United States.

1st Grade Empathy Service Project

Park Elementary 1st Graders and their teachers have spearheaded an Empathy Drive as a way to focus on their Habits of Learning traits. One of those traits is "Empathy". Please bring canned goods, hats or mittens to school through Dec. 13th (Tues.)

The 4th Annual Durango Education Fair

The 4th Annual Durango Education Fair will take place on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 5-7pm at Fort Lewis College. This informational fair celebrates the wonderful and unique educational choices and opportunities available in our small town. From innovative public schools, to a variety of private and parochial schools, to rigorous charter schools and many higher education opportunities, Durango-area schools offer choices, diverse curriculum and opportunities for every family from preschool through higher education.
