Letter from the Superintendent

Dear Parents and members of the Community,

I want to thank our community for the participation in last week’s Suicide Prevention Summit sponsored by many community organizations and facilitated by San Juan Basin Health Department.  It was a good first step for us to begin problem solving and planning for critical next steps as a community.

Park Elementary Student Council team invites you to participate in the upcoming Thrones for Homes Fundraiser - May 22nd (Mon.) thru May 30th (Tues.)

Dear Park Students and Staff,
It’s the last hoorah for making this year great. Time to honor (ha ha ha) our teachers once more.

Student council is starting a new fundraiser called “Being COOL with Water.” FOR ONE WEEK This endeavor will raise money for the organization called “Thrones for Homes.” This program buys eco-friendly waterless composting toilets for South American families in need. This may sound silly but every family needs a toilet and without toilets families have to go into the woods making it unhealthy and unsafe. $300 will buy a compostable toilet for one family; $1000 will buy a well for four families.

Showcase Your Business and Sponsor with 9-R

Durango 9-R's sponsorship program helps local businesses and organizations reach the 9-R community and puts money back in our classrooms. Not only does your sponsorship free up dollars that can go back to support technology in schools, good nutrition programs in the kitchens and innovative programming for students, but it is also an opportunity to showcase your business, and its services, as being a key supporter of public education in Durango.
