Attention 5th Graders & Parents - upcoming events - May 30th & May 31st

It’s that time of year when we recognize our 5th graders and wish them well for their soon to be journey to middle school. Also, it’s their last chance to show off their talents.

May 30th (Thurs.) -- 3rd - 5th Grade Talent Show -- (must audition to perform, check in w/ your teacher) -- 1:30pm-2:55pm

May 31st (Fri.) -- 5th Grade Graduation – 1:15pm-2:30pm

District-Wide Orchestra Concert at Fort Lewis College - May 7th (Tues.) 6:00pm-7:00pm

We would like to invite families to attend the District-wide Orchestra Concert at the Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College on May 7th (Tues.) from 6:00pm-7:00pm.

Ms. Owens will be taking orchestra students to Fort Lewis College during the day for their rehearsal on May 7th from 8:00am-2:00pm.

May 9th (Thurs.) will be the last day for orchestra class at Park Elem. Students will return their instruments on this day.

Safe Routes to School/Bike Rodeo-- May 8, 2019

Park Elementary will host a Bike Rodeo on National Bike to School Day, Wednesday, May 8, 2019. All students will have the opportunity to participate. Students will be encouraged to ride or bring their bikes and helmets to school the morning of the event. Bikes will be stored in assigned grade-level areas on the field and will be labeled with students’ names. If your child does not have a bike, bikes and helmets will be available to use during the morning activities.

District-Wide Choir Elementary Music Festival at Miller Middle School May 2nd (Thurs.) 6:00pm-7:30pm

Elementary Choir Festival featuring our After School Choir students on May 2nd (Thurs.) from 6:00pm-7:30pm at Miller Middle School. Choir students will dress nice clothes – black on the bottom and white on the top and arrive at 5:45pm. Ms. Owens will be taking choir students to Miller Middle School during the day for their rehearsal. No choir after school on May 2nd. The last day for choir is May 9th. We will celebrate our end of season with a party after school in the music room.

Park Elementary Kindergarten hosts Pop-up Museum

Did you know that underneath a polar bear's white fluffy fur its skin is completely black? At today's Ready, Set, Grow Museum kindergartner and resident polar bear expert Oscar P. shared this and variety of other facts from his research on polar bears. Zebra expert Mariah H. explained that a zebra's stripes help protect them from predators, and Alex M. shocked visitors with his knowledge of black widow spiders.
The event was hosted by Ms. Cash's kindergarten class at Park Elementary, for students to show they knew all about their research animal with self-published books and dioramas of the animals in their natural habitat.
