2019/20 Sponsorship Opportunities

School districts produce several required and beneficial communications documents
throughout the year, some mandated by law and some to stay connected with
families and the community. In order to help streamline these costs in the budget,
which in turn funnels money back to the classrooms, we are reaching out to
community partners to support our work through sponsorships!

Pediatric Partners of the Southwest To Provide Medical Oversight of DHS School-Based Health Clinic

Pediatric Partners of the Southwest will assume operations as the medical provider for the School-Based Health Center (SBHC) at Durango High School effective July 1, 2019.

The School-Based Health Centers have been a partnership between Durango School District 9-R and Axis Health System (AHS) for the last 12 years. AHS and 9-R worked closely over the years to develop the SBHC model of supports and services for students and youth in the area, providing high-quality and accessible healthcare to La Plata County. Pediatric Partners of the Southwest (PPSW) is well positioned to assume the medical sponsorship and direct health care services at the Durango High School SBHC.

Ballroom Dancing Dance-off - District wide - May 23rd @ 4:30pm @ Park Elementary

We would like to invite all Durango 9R families to the District-wide Ballroom Dancing Dance-off at Park Elementary due to bad weather instead of Fort Lewis College Amphitheater. Selected 5th grade students have been chosen from each elementary school to perform in the Dance-off. If weather is bad or the Amphitheater location does not work out, the backup location will be Park Elementary at 510 E. 6th Ave. Come and support our 5th graders. They have been working hard all year!

District Accountability Advisory Committee Parent Survey

This annual parent survey is prepared by the District Accountability Advisory Committee (DAAC). The committee is composed of of parents, teachers, and administrators from every school as well as community members and representatives from 9-R administration, the Board of Education and the Financial Advisory Committee. Each year the results of the survey are used to inform schools and the administration of areas for improvement and areas of strength.

Yearbooks for Sale!!! (Beginning May 6th - please use order form or order online)

On May 3rd, yearbook order envelopes will be sent home in Friday folders. Students can return their order envelope back to their teacher with payment (cash or check made out to Park PTO). The cost of a yearbook is $15.00. Yearbooks can also be order online.

A huge thank you goes out to our Park parent, Amber Tomberlin! We appreciate all her hard work creating our amazing 2018-19 yearbook!

Attention 5th Graders & Parents - upcoming events - May 30th & May 31st

It’s that time of year when we recognize our 5th graders and wish them well for their soon to be journey to middle school. Also, it’s their last chance to show off their talents.

May 30th (Thurs.) -- 3rd - 5th Grade Talent Show -- (must audition to perform, check in w/ your teacher) -- 1:30pm-2:55pm

May 31st (Fri.) -- 5th Grade Graduation – 1:15pm-2:30pm
