We are excited to announce that the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) will be bringing a mobile vaccine van to two Durango 9-R school locations to help families catch up on the required school vaccines.

We are seeing a rise in COVID-19 cases in the schools as well as the greater community. Please be proactive to help curb the spread.

October 13th, 2023 (Friday) marks the 5th Annual Panther Prowl! We are excited to host another successful fun run. -- El 13 de octubre de 2023 (Viernes) se celebra la 5ª edición de Panther Prowl. Estamos emocionados de ser anfitriones de otra exitosa carrera.

Due to hazardous road conditions, all schools will be closed today, Feb. 9. This decision was made in collaboration with emergency management. This includes all bus routes, school-related events and activities.

The Durango Public Library had their "Friends of the Library Bookmark" contest. There were three categories: Elementary, Middle and High School. Park Elementary's very own, Charlie D. (5th Grade) won 1st place for the Elementary School division. Well done Charlie, we are so proud of you!!

Park Elementary's Book Fair begins on Sept. 29th and runs through Oct. 5th, 2023. With the weather cooling down, it's a great time of year to snuggle down with a good book! --- La Feria del Libro de Park Elementary empieza el 29 de septiembre y dura hasta el 5 de octubre. Con el tiempo refrescando, es un buen momento del año para acurrucarse con un buen libro.

Save the date! Park Elementary will be doing picture day (individual & class photos) on Sept. 27th (Wed.). All orders are done online (see flyer). --- ¡Guardar la fecha! Welcome back to another school year; we hope you had a fun and safe summer! We are excited to be back to start the Green Team again! Our first meeting will be on Thursday, September 21st from 3:00 – 4:00 in the Park Library. Meetings will continue every other Thursday at the same time and place with some exceptions due to holidays/school closures (please see meeting calendar below). We hope you will join us this school year! All students are welcome! ----- Bienvenidos de nuevo a otro año escolar; ¡esperamos que hayan tenido un verano divertido y seguro! ¡Estamos muy contentos de estar de vuelta para iniciar el Equipo Verde de nuevo! Nuestra primera reunión será el jueves 21 de septiembre de 3:00 - 4:00 en la Biblioteca del Parque. Las reuniones continuarán cada dos jueves a la misma hora y lugar con algunas excepciones debido a los días festivos / cierres escolares (por favor, consulte el calendario de reuniones a continuación). ¡Esperamos que se unan a nosotros este año escolar! ¡Todos los estudiantes son bienvenidos!

We are excited to announce that Park Elementary's Bike Rodeo is back and all students will be participating!! -- Estamos muy contentos de anunciar que el Rodeo de Bicicletas de Park Elementary está de vuelta y todos los estudiantes participarán.

As a commitment to the district’s sustainability goals, we’re launching a new program to promote and implement the Durango School District’s sustainability plan. Staff and students are invited to join a Green Team in each school.
