About Ms. Laurel Pate
I am currently Park Elementary's Assistant Principal. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida in 2008. I earned a Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis in Mathematics in 2012 and then completed the Educational Leadership program at Regis University in Denver in 2017. I have taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. Before joining the 9R team in 2017, I was a Math Instructional Coach and Facilitator for Denver Public Schools.
In my free time, I enjoy rock climbing, hiking, skiing and spending time with loved ones, including my handsome shepherd/pit mix, Koa.
As a teacher, watching students come to see themselves as mathematicians was incredibly rewarding. As a leader, I love supporting teachers to grow in their very important craft and helping students grow both academically and in their character.

Actualmente soy la Subdirectora de Park Elementary. Recibí mi Licenciatura en Ciencias en Educación Primaria de la Universidad de Florida Central en 2008. Obtuve una Maestría en Currículo e Instrucción con énfasis en Matemáticas en 2012 y luego completé el programa de Liderazgo Educativo en la Universidad Regis en Denver en 2017. He enseñado 3º, 4º y 5º grados. Antes de unirme al equipo de 9R en 2017, fui Entrenadora Instruccional de Matemáticas y Facilitadora para las Escuelas Públicas de Denver.
En mi tiempo libre, me gusta escalar rocas, hacer senderismo, esquiar y pasar tiempo con mis seres queridos, incluyendo mi hermoso pastor/mezcla de pit, Koa.
Como profesora, ver a los alumnos llegar a verse a sí mismos como matemáticos fue increíblemente gratificante. Como líder, me encanta apoyar a los maestros a crecer en su oficio muy importante y ayudar a los estudiantes a crecer tanto académicamente como en su carácter.
