What do I do if my student is home sick?

If your child has one minor symptom: sore throat, runny nose/congestion, muscle/body aches, headache, fatigue, nausea/vomiting, diarrhea;  please monitor their symptom for 24 hours.  If that one symptom doesn't resolve in 24 hours, or more symptoms appear, your child will need a doctor's note to return to school.  If it resolves in 24 hours, your child may return to school without a doctor's note.

If you have more than one minor symptom (above) or you have one or more major symptoms: feeling feverish, having chills, temperature above 100.4, loss of taste or smell, new or unexplained persistent cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing;  you will need a doctor's note to return to school regardless of whether or not the symptom(s) resolve in 24 hours.

If you opt not to go to the doctor, there is a required 10 day isolation period where your child will need to stay home for 10 days and then may return if symptom free for over 24 hours.  If you choose this option, please communicate that to our school.

If you have seen the doctor, please be aware that you will need to get the doctor's note to the school prior to your child returning to school.  A negative COVID test is great news, but we still need the doctor's note to clear your student for return.  Please call the school if you have any questions.  Thank you!
