A few questions that were asked multiple times were:
What time does school begin? 7:45am. There is no before school recess, and families CANNOT drop off before 7:45am. The first day of school is August 31st.
What time does school end? 2:15pm
Will there be Kids Camp? Yes
If we are unhappy with our model, when can we change models? You can change your model after the first quarter.
Can we choose our days for blended? No, however, we will ensure that families will be in the same blended schedule across all the schools.
When will we know the teachers? - The week of August 17th
Where is the school supply list? - on the Park website. Added to the list is a 24 x 16. X 10.5 box/bin for materials.
Are students required to wear masks? Yes, all students K-12 will be required to wear a mask. There will be opportunities for mask breaks
Will students be socially distanced? - Students will be socially distanced anywhere from 6 to 3 feet.
Specials (Music, Art, PE, Tech) will be taught in the classroom or outside depending on the weather.
What is a Cohort? A cohort is a group of students who will be together all day including recess, lunch, and learning.
What does Remote learning look like? A Park teacher will teach in a variety of ways including: zoom meetings and videos. The remote teacher will use the EL curriculum. Crew will be taught on a daily basis.
When will a child be quarantined? A child will be quarantined if a Cohort collapses due to a positive Covid test for 14 days. The children in the classroom will pivot to remote learning during the quarantine period.
What if my child has a symptom? Keep your child at home.
Will there be temperature checks? - Temperature checks should be done at home and will be done half day by your child’s teacher.
Can my child ride the bus? Yes, but you must register with the bus barn. Go to www.durangoschools.org - Departments - Transportation. Please read website and fill out online forms. Transportation phone number is (970)247-5335.
