About Chelsi Olson - 4th grade Math & Science

This is my 15th year teaching and my sixth year at Park Elementary. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Child Psychology from Colorado State University. I have my Masters of Arts in K-5 Education from Regis University and an Environmental Education Certificate from Hamline University.  I love being outside and adventuring, whether it’s mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking or camping. Also, I love to travel to new places, immerse myself in new cultures and meet new people. If I am spending time indoors, I enjoy reading and sewing. The most rewarding part of my job is teaching and making connections with a variety of students from all walks of life. As a child of poverty I am proud to have been the first person in my family to graduate from high school and then go on to get a graduate and postgraduate degree. It is important to me to model for my students; “effort equals achievement” and “if you believe it, work hard enough, and push yourself, you can achieve it”.  I hope each of my students know I am a champion of them, believe in them and revel in their successes. I truly do love all the amazing kiddos I teach at Park. Being a part of the Park community has been such a blessing and an immense benefit to my growth as a teacher.
