I graduated from Kansas State University in elementary education with a licensure in Special Education. After leaving Kansas City, I earned a Master’s degree in Technology in Education.
I have been teaching for 24 years. I have taught in 4 school districts: Kansas City, Grand Junction, Gunnison and Durango 9R at Park, Florida Mesa and Sunnyside schools.
I have taught every grade (except Kindergarten) as well as special education, gifted, and reading resource. After 11 years in fifth grade at Park, I am so excited to be working and supporting the younger students and classroom teachers in reading and math. I also tutor after school. Their smiles and eagerness to learn bring lots of joy!
Outside of school, you will fine me enjoying a lot of water time on the boat at the lake, hiking in the mountains with my dog pal, Cody a mini Australian Shepherd, getting dirty in the yard, traveling with my family to the beach and Kansas City, listening to live music and of course reading!
My two kids are my pride and joy! Ben is 16 and a junior at Durango High school. He is on the soccer team, so we watch a lot of soccer! Ryann is 13 and an eight grader. We have a lot of fun together playing board games and taking road trips.
What would students say about me? Ms. Aupperle is energetic, loud, silly and loves to have fun with a lot of thinking and growing to be our personal best. She loves to give hugs and share stories!
